Base salary, bonuses & tipping

What makes Thuisbezorgd.nl unique as an employer in the food delivery business in the Netherlands, is that couriers get paid per hour instead of per delivery. Plus: you get paid per week, so you’ll reap the rewards of your work quickly. 

By working as a courier, you can earn a base salary per hour, including holiday pay, value of holidays and city allowance, depending on age and region. This is without bonuses and tips, so you could earn even more, making it one of the best paying easy jobs to do. In the next few paragraphs, we’ll break down the different components that would make up your salary. 

What is the base salary for Thuisbezorgd.nl couriers?

The base salary for people of 21 years and older is currently around € 11.16 per hour. This is the starting point across the entire country. 

Do Thuisbezorgd.nl couriers get bonuses?

On top of the base salary, there are a few bonuses available that you’ll be eligible for depending on varying circumstances. In some cities, like Amsterdam, there’s a city allowance and/or a rush hour bonus. Everyone also gets holiday pay and the value of vacation days.

Do Thuisbezorgd.nl couriers get tips?

You can also earn tips! Some people might tip you in cash at the doors, others might use the app to show their appreciation. If you get tipped at the door, you can pocket it directly. Digital tips will be paid out tax-free at the end of the month. 

Do you get sick days or vacation days at Thuisbezorgd.nl

If you get sick – no worries. There’s no waiting day and our employees get paid 70% of their average working hours of the last 13 weeks, even if you just miss a day. You’ll also receive a holiday allowance, consisting of 8% of the hourly wage, paid in Spring. If you want some time off, there are 20 statutory vacation days and 5 non-statutory days or accrued vacation days, all paid and exchangeable for money at any time.
