At Thuisbezorgd.nl, we have a few different ways that you can start working as a courier. The main decision you will make once you have signed up is deciding what location you want to start picking up orders from. This will also impact the type of vehicle you deliver on. Find out more about how to choose your Thuisbezorgd shift starting location below.
Choosing a Ride and Shift Starting Location
Starting at a Hub or Remotely - The choice is yours!
As well as being able to start from a remote location of your choice, in some cities around the Netherlands, couriers have the option to start at a dedicated courier hub. Each option comes with its own benefits. Deciding where you want to start from depends entirely on your own personal preferences, and what is available in your delivery location.
What is a Thuisbezorgd Hub?
Our hubs are dedicated spaces usually located in the centre of cities, where couriers can come to start their shifts. There, you’ll be able to pick up essentials like equipment, have a warm drink with colleagues, and get the support of other Thuisbezorgd team members and hub coordinators.
Not all cities have Hub and Remote options
Not all cities in the Netherlands have both hub and remote starting options.
We have “hub” cities, meaning you will always be a hub courier.
We have “remote” cities, meaning you will always be a remote courier.
We have cities that offer both remote and hub starting points, meaning the choice is up to you!
How can I find out if my city is Hub or Remote?
The easiest way to tell if your city offers a hub, remote, or both starting options, is to check what vehicle types are available to you when you sign up. If you find that only company vehicles are on offer - that means your city is a hub city. If both using your own vehicle or using a company vehicle are options - then you have the option to start either way. If in doubt, you can always ask our helpful recruitment specialists!
How do Thuisbezorgd Hub and Remote starting points compare?

How to choose your Thuisbezorgd delivery vehicle
The vehicle type you choose depends on a few factors. These include the type of vehicle you already own, and if you are starting from a hub, or from a remote location. If you do decide to work remotely and use your own vehicle, Thuisbezorgd offers a kilometre allowance.

How can you work with us if you don’t have a bike?
If you prefer to start at a location of your choice rather than a hub, the good news is that you don’t need to own your own bike or e-bike to do so. Thanks to our new collaboration with Swapfiets and E-bike to go, you can enjoy the flexibility of starting where you want, and the per kilometre allowance we offer.
With this promotion, couriers get their own bike or e-bike which they can use not only during shifts but in their free time as well. So, don’t let not having your own bike stop you from applying to be a remote courier in your city. When applying, don’t forget to ask your recruiter for the link to apply for this special offer!
